It’s hard to write an “about me”. My fitness journey started in 2006. I realized I’d gained some weight and was trying to hide behind it with baggy clothes. When I was younger I used to run with my dad. Since it was familiar, I figured it was a good place to start. For me running was like a drug. I was hooked and it lead to weight lifting, yoga, other forms of cardio, etc.
In high school I could eat whatever I wanted and not gain weight. That ended in college and I had to start watching what I ate. Now I love healthy eating and cooking. I eat lean proteins, whole grains, fruits and veggies. Dairy is something I don’t eat too much of. I have a slight lactose intolerance so I drink soy milk which I love.
I’m at the point now where I’m okay with the number on the scale, I’m more focused on what I see in the mirror. I’d like to be more toned, have a flatter stomach, be more sculpted. Also I’m just trying to stay on top of my running game. Normally I run at least one half marathon a year, a 10K and try to do a few other fun runs.
